The mandate of Kenya National examinations council is to set and maintain examinations and assessment standards, conduct national examinations and assessments and award certificates.

Marking is one of the major activities in the council calendar. The council contracts examiners annually to mark various examinations and assessments and thus it takes keen interest in training examiners and assessors. This online orientation training for trainee examiners course aims to enhance your capacity in competency based assessment marking for successful implementation of the competency based curriculum (CBC).

Objectives

The main objective of the online orientation training for trainee examiners course is to prepare you as a prospective examiner and enhance your assessment knowledge and skills to effectively score and report on the candidates' achievement as envisaged in the Competency Based Assessment.

Using technology in training will ensure more access to materials and timely individualized feedback. It also enables you to work at your pace and convenience. The Kenya National Examinations Council has come up with an online platform for training examiners accessed through KNEC website or our portal.

The training content are uploaded into the online training portal to be accessed by the trainee examiners organized into two modules that have to be completed progressively.
